In the version proposed here by Muri-Gries, it stands out for its fruity aroma. A medium-bodied wine that becomes very versatile in food pairings: from braised beef to grilled vegetables. In this case, the grapes grow in vineyards located in Eppan, Kaltern and Bolzano, all located at an altitude of 400 meters and above, with southeastern exposure. Super careful vinification, after 10 days of temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, the wine matures in large 30-50 hectoliter wooden barrels for at least 5 months. Brilliant ruby red in color, the Pinot Noir from Muri-Gries impresses with its fruity nose of ripe tart cherries, black currants, blackberries and raspberries. A complex and playful nose, lightly spiced with hints of bay leaf and tarragon. Almost ethereal. The palate is fruity, with great structure and fullness. Captivating tannins and lively acidity. From Switzerland with love. This could be summarized as the beautiful story of Muri-Gries, dating back to 1845 when, a group of Benedictine monks from Muri, Switzerland, arrived in Gries, just outside Bolzano. Here they took over the abbey of the Augustinian canons and with it their wine business, which was already centuries old. Thus was born a close symbiosis between convent, winery and vineyards, which has remained intact to this day. Today, the Muri-Gries winery can count on the production of excellent wines made exclusively from the grapes of the estate's finest vineyards. In the winery, modern steel tanks are used for vinification. Then wooden barrels and barriques to complete the aging of the good wines made especially from Lagrein, an indigenous variety that loves the South Tyrolean soils.
