Verdicchio is one of the main grape varieties of the Marche region, produced in the hilly area between the municipalities of Jesi and Matelica. It is precisely these two areas that give its most famous white wines their names: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Verdicchio di Matelica.
