Friuli

Located in the north-east of Italy, Friuli-Venezia Giulia is the land of the big white wines, known as “superwhites”. Because of its geographic position, the region has been subject to territorial disputes and settlements for a long time that have enriched Friuli of numerous native and international vines, having found fertile land in that territory to express their organoleptic range at its best. A particular zone suited for the production of large-caliber wine is Colli Orientali, but not only.

Among the red wines, Refosco dal Penducolo Rosso, Cabernet and Merlot are the most loved and awarded, but in this rich region sparkling wines aren't missing: it is here, together with Veneto, that Prosecco DOC was born, as well as Ribolla Gialla.
