Nebbiolo is one of Italy's most prized grape varieties, whose production is concentrated in Piedmont, in the Langhe, and in Lombardy, especially in Valtellina. It gives rise to structured wines of great elegance, such as Barbaresco, Barolo, Gattinara, Roero and Valtellina Superiore DOCG, as well as some wines that take their name from the vine itself, such as Nebbiolo d'Alba and Langhe Nebbiolo. Wines produced with Nebbiolo grapes have precise organoleptic characteristics: they have fruity and floral notes and are moderately tannic.
