Botonero Terrazze Retiche di Sondrio IGT - Mamete Prevostini

For those who are looking for an immediate red of excellent quality, this is the right bottle. Produced with the same Nebbiolo grapes used for the great wines of the region, the Terrazze Retiche di Sondrio Rosso IGT Botonero by Mamete Prevostini is the result of a careful selection of the grapes first in the vineyard and then, manually, just before the vinification phase. Processed in steel, the wine undergoes a quick refinement of about 6 months, before being bottled for a further six months. The result is an immediate and pleasant wine. Characterized by a beautiful bright ruby red color but transparent, as is typical of the basic grape variety. On the nose there are notes of berries, fresh and pleasant, then cherry, currant and strawberry, followed by aromas of rose and violet. on the palate it is fresh and pleasant, medium-bodied and very drinkable. A perfect wine to approach the Nebbiolo della Valtellina, before tackling one of the great reds from drying that are typical for the area. Good today, not a wine that should be forgotten in the cellar for too long.

A beautiful story, that of the Mamete Prevostini Winery. A story made of passion for a unique territory, such as the Valtellina, and of a vine that, here as elsewhere, has the ability to give life to extraordinary wines. We are obviously talking about Nebbiolo, which in these parts is called Chiavennasca. The original Mamete Prevostini, grandfather of the current owner of the company, began to produce wine immediately after the end of the WWI It did so by exploiting an ancient crotto, a natural cave that has always been used as a cellar in the Chiavenna Valley. But it wasn't until 1995 that his grandson made his debut with a real quality production for the market. Today the winery can count on a total of 20 hectares of vineyards, of which 8 are owned and the remaining 12 are rented. Mamete Prevostini's wines, which have been awarded by critics and international wine guides, undoubtedly represent a point of reference for the entire area.

  • Sensations Brilliant ruby red color, quite transparent. On the nose it reveals fresh and fruity aromas of berries clean and pleasant, which open with notes of cherry, currant and strawberry followed by aromas of rose and violet. On the palate it is fresh and pleasant. Medium-bodied wine.
  • Vinification The berries that are not perfectly intact or affected by mold are removed. After gentle destemming, the lightly crushed grapes are sent to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place following 6 days of maceration of the skins on the must at a temperature of 25?C. After pressing, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, where it is aged for about 8 months, followed by refinement in the bottle.
