The various types of Champagne differ in terms of the percentage of sugar, which is regulated by specific tables indicating the permitted dosage. For Extra Brut, the sugar content must be between 0 and 6 g/l, one of the lowest, second only to Pas Dosé. Sparkling wines with a pronounced acid note, such as dry champagnes, fall into this category. Champagne Brut may instead contain a maximum of 12 grams of sugar per litre.
