"Tellus" Rosé di Syrah Lazio IGP 2021

A super versatile grape variety by nature, Syrah lends itself perfectly to a thousand interpretations. Fabulous in its red version, it can also give great satisfaction when vinified in pink, as in this case. The one proposed here by Famiglia Cotarella, in fact, is an interesting Syrah Rosé, made from grapes from the same vineyard used to produce Tellus red. Quality clusters that guarantee a remarkable freshness, and as such lend themselves well to rose vinification. In addition to approximately 90 per cent Syrah, there is a small proportion of Aleatico grapes, a slightly aromatic variety typical of central Italy. The grapes, harvested separately and at different times, arrive at the winery in the early hours of the morning. Here they are cooled for cold maceration, and the must obtained is sent for fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The result is a pleasant wine characterised by a pale pink colour with violet hues. The nose is clean, with sensations of violets and blood orange. In the mouth, on the other hand, it is noted for its fine intensity and very pleasant 'acidulous' finish. A fortunate combination of fruit and freshness, this Tellus Rosé proves to be an extremely versatile wine. Excellent as an aperitif, it is a wonderful companion for lunches and dinners in company. Perfect with both meat and fish dishes.
