"Auxo" Colli di Luni Rosso DOC 2021

Auxo, Colli di Luni DOC red, is one of the most interesting labels offered by Lunae Bosoni. It comes from a vinification of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo grapes. The three grape varieties that make it up clearly refer to the Tuscan oenological tradition. But the presence of these vines in the Colli di Luni is nothing other than the fruit of historical and social influences that the two territories have always had. The particular Ligurian terroir, characterised by the strong proximity of sea and mountains, gives these grapes elegance and identity. A curiosity about the name. Auxo is a Latin term that identified the growth, the vegetative development of plants and represented one of the four seasons of the year. The vinification process initially involves a 10-day maceration of the skins. Then, after racking, follows a maturation phase in 20-hectolitre oak casks that lasts for about 10 months. A medium intense ruby red, this red has a pleasantly multifaceted nose, including aromas of cherries in spirit, strawberries and plums, associated with notes of sweet cocoa and pipe tobacco with a slight background of violet petals and blood orange. In the mouth, the drink is soft and silky, but acidity and flavour make it lively and intriguing. The finish is pleasantly floral and spicy.
