"Vign'Angena" Vermentino di Gallura DOCG 2022
  • Capichera wines always have names that refer to a precise concept. In this case, for example, Vign'angena is a typical expression in the Gallurese dialect meaning 'other people's vineyard'. The curious name refers to the grapes used for this wine, coming from vineyards under conduction, at least in the first years. Later, new estate vineyards were used, but they have now reached full production maturity. Vinified for the first time in 1994, Vign'angena is the purest expression of Vermentino di Gallura vinified exclusively in steel tanks. Very fragrant, mineral and intense, this white wine belongs to the most famous DOCG in Sardinia, and one of the most loved in the world when referring to Italian wines. Harvested between the end of August and the beginning of September, this Vermentino presents itself in the glass with a beautiful pale straw yellow colour, with slight greenish reflections and very clear. The nose reveals intense, floral and orange blossom aromas. Then iris, broom, hawthorn and fruit, with yellow apple and pleasant mineral notes. Fresh and lively, this 100% Sardinian white is able to amaze for the freshness of its fruit, with full and fragrant flesh and a nice mineral and persistent finish. If it might seem "wasted" as an aperitif (which it is not), this white wine should be served with first and second courses of fish or with delicate white meat dishes. A real treat for the palate.

Capichera is an Italian winery located in a corner of Sardinia, nestled among the granite rocks of Gallura. We are located in Arzachena, in a unique and fascinating natural setting, rich in ancient traditions. Capichera is a family-run business, founded in the late 1970s. It was the first winery to enhance its Vermentino in purity with the use of barriques, proposing a model based on a production of the highest quality and continuous research. All of this was done through a viticulture that respected and rigorously respected the identity of the territory, allowing this vine to reveal its great peculiarities and characteristics. It is no coincidence that many authoritative critics claim that the history of Capichera is, in fact, the history of quality Vermentino. Today, in addition to Vermentino, the winery also successfully works with other varieties, such as Carignano and Syrah, resulting in high-profile reds. Wines that are strongly identified with the Gallura area and united by the same production philosophy.
