Vermentino Toscana IGT - Vignaioli di Scansano

Vermentino, as wine lovers know, is a grape that loves heat and in Tuscany, not far from the coast, it finds an ideal habitat. It is used to create fresh and immediate wines, perfect to enjoy a relaxing break between one glass of Sangiovese and the next. Despite the fact that the Vignaioli del Morellino are, by definition, the kings of red wines, even when they try their hand at whites they can achieve excellent results. In the case of this Vermentino, for example, utmost attention is paid to the preservation and enhancement of the most subtle and elegant aromas. A process that requires great attention to temperature control in all stages. After the harvest, when the grapes are kept fresh thanks to a special carbonic snow, and during the fermentation and refinement phase, strictly in thermoregulated and steel containers. The result? A surprising white wine to serve as an aperitif or paired to a lunch with delicate dishes. A fresh fish, baked with potatoes, is its ideal partner. Definitely a marriage of love.

Another cooperative winery capable of offering excellent wines, often characterized by a really interesting quality/price ratio. This time the location is Tuscany, in the heart of Maremma, far, but not very far, from the coast but especially from Montalcino, Montepulciano and Florence with its Chianti. The winery in question is the Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano, founded in 1972, and today consisting of about 170 members. Vineyards split among hundreds of different plots, scattered on the hills surrounding the village. We're talking about 720 acres, not exactly a backyard. The production focuses mainly on Morellino, as is normal, offered in different versions, but not only. The secret of the good results achieved by the winery is easy to tell. The great quality of all the wines is ensured by the small size of each vineyard, which is followed by the appointed member with care and attention to all details. As if it were a personal garden.
