Cantina Viticoltori Senesi Aretini offers this pure Vermentino, a wine that tastes of the sea, flowers and ripe fruit. We are located between Siena and Arezzo, in a hilly area where viticulture has ancient roots. The soils are calcareous and medium-textured, with a good percentage of sandy skeleton, rich in calcium and sodium, characteristics that give the wine minerality and sapidity. The altitude, between 200 and 400 metres above sea level, contributes to creating a cool and breezy climate, ideal for growing Vermentino. This is a white grape variety that is widely grown in the regions bordering the Mediterranean. In this case, the grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks to preserve the varietal aromas. Ageing continues in the same tanks for a period of several months. In the glass, it has a bright straw yellow colour. The nose opens with an intense floral bouquet, with hints of orange blossom, broom and hawthorn. These are followed by notes of ripe white fruit, such as apple, pear and melon, and a slight mineral nuance. On the palate, the wine is fresh, intense and persistent, with a typical, slightly almond finish. A versatile wine to be drunk young, it is perfect with aperitifs, appetisers and fish dishes. It goes particularly well with seafood, shellfish, seafood salads and seafood risottos.
