Vermentino Bolgheri DOC 2021 - Campo al Noce

Vermentino, as we know, is a grape that loves the heat and hearing the lapping of the waves at a short distance. When it finds itself in these conditions, it is capable of producing simply fantastic wines. Enjoyable and versatile whites that will delight wine lovers and casual drinkers alike. This is the case of this Bolgheri DOC Vermentino that Campo al Noce offers in a super traditional version. Harvesting of the grapes usually begins in the first ten days of September, when the Vermentino bunches have reached full ripeness and their skins turn a beautiful golden yellow colour. Harvesting is done by hand, with a strict selection of the best bunches in the vineyard, and the grapes are transported to the winery in small crates. Temperature-controlled vinification in stainless steel tanks, to preserve the goodness of the varietal and give life to a wine characterised by a beautiful straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. On the nose, the typical aromas of fresh fruit and white flowers stand out, with citrus notes in clear evidence. In the mouth, on the other hand, one discovers a wine that is above all savoury and mineral. A white wine easy to pair, especially with fish dishes, especially a good fried fish, but also with shellfish.

We are in the heart of Tuscany. Close to the coast, however, where Sangiovese gives way to international vines and the wines produced come under the name of Bolgheri. The Campo al Noce farm is located here, immersed in the hills between the ancient village of Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, in one of the most famous territories for the production of fine, world-famous wines. Campo al Noce is a completely family-run business whose production, decidedly contained, is aimed above all at the search for quality. It is run with passion and competence by the members of the Sgariglia family who are determined to bring to their customers' tables not only a good wine but possibly products that make them think of their beautiful land. Every year, during the harvest, the bunches of grapes from about 6 hectares of vineyards, all with excellent exposure, are picked by hand. The subsequent processing takes place in an artisanal manner, although assisted by modern winemaking and bottling techniques.
