"Spera" Vermentino di Gallura DOCG 2021

A beam of light. This is the meaning of the Gallura term 'Spèra', chosen for this white wine from the Siddùra winery. A Vermentino di Gallura DOCG that is born close to the sea, in a perfectly Mediterranean climate, where the soils of ancient granite origin and the mistral wind allow the grapes to reach perfect ripeness, giving life to wines of great character. Spèra is a fresh, perfumed white wine that comes from vineyards cultivated with a high density of vines, up to 5,600 vines per hectare, trained by the Guyot and spurred cordon systems. The grapes are harvested by hand into small baskets, where they are placed delicately to prevent the berries from getting damaged. Delivered to the cellar, the bunches undergo a soft pressing. The must obtained ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. At the end of the transformation, the wine rests for a certain period in contact with its noble lees, the 'sur lies' technique. In the glass it has a beautiful straw yellow colour with characteristic greenish reflections. The nose is fine and intense, characterised by delicate fruity notes reminiscent of citrus fruits and Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it is dry, savoury and fresh. Characterised by a good gustative balance and a pleasant persistence. Moderately alcoholic, it is best appreciated served as an aperitif, but is also ideal to accompany delicate seafood dishes.
