Verdeca is one of the many white, indigenous grape varieties of Apulia. It is even considered one of the most important and distinctive grape varieties of the region. Much of its success derives from this grape's perfect adaptation to the region's hot, dry climate and its good resistance to disease. The latter characteristic, in particular, also makes Verdeca perfect for organic viticulture techniques, with limited human intervention and without the use of any synthetic products. A fresh and aromatic white wine, this Salento IGP from Cantina Sampietrana offers good acidity and pleasant minerality, as well as a brilliant straw yellow colour and a flavour profile characterised by notes of citrus, white flowers, peach and aromatic herbs.
