A wine that needs no introduction, Bruciato has helped to spread the knowledge of Bolgheri around the world. An iconic wine of its area, Tenuta Guado al Tasso's Bruciato is truly a legend!

The biggest brand in wine with a history spanning more than 600 years: Antinori is this and much more! Just think of the estates: the historic ones in Tuscany and Umbria have been joined by investments in other areas suited to the production of quality wines, even abroad. A name that has always been able to innovate, outlining what are now the production guidelines of many other companies and thus becoming the precursor of a style that today represents us in the world.

  • Sensations Intense ruby red colour, the nose is complex with notes of red fruits, sweet spices and roasted coffee. On the palate it is full-bodied, round and with splendid harmony and pleasantness.
  • Vinification Fermentation and maceration were conducted in stainless steel tanks thermo-conditioned for a period of about 10-15 days at a temperature of 28-30?C. A portion of the Merlot and Syrah musts was kept at lower fermentation temperatures to better preserve the varietal aromas. Malolactic fermentation took place partly in barriques and partly in stainless steel tanks, and was completed by the end of the year for all varieties. The wine was then racked and put back into barriques where it rested for another 7 months, after which it was bottled. This was followed by 4 months of bottle ageing.

      (2014) The 2014 Bolgheri Il Bruciato, the entry level wine from Antinori's Guado al Tasso property, is powerful, juicy and intense. Then again, Antinori was extremely severe in 2014. The Cont'Ugo and Matarocchio will not be bottled at all, while production of Guado al Tasso is down sharply. This is an absolutely delicious wine for the year within its relatively modest (by Bolgheri standards) price range.    - Antonio Galloni

    Aromas of sage and currants with blackberries follow through to a full body with intense,round tannins that are nicely crafted. Fresh, flavorful finish. Some dried herbs at the end with a slightly grilled-meat undertone. Drinkable now, but better in two or three years.
