(2014) The 2014 Bolgheri Il Bruciato, the entry level wine from Antinori's Guado al Tasso property, is powerful, juicy and intense. Then again, Antinori was extremely severe in 2014. The Cont'Ugo and Matarocchio will not be bottled at all, while production of Guado al Tasso is down sharply. This is an absolutely delicious wine for the year within its relatively modest (by Bolgheri standards) price range.

Aromas of sage and currants with blackberries follow through to a full body with intense,round tannins that are nicely crafted. Fresh, flavorful finish. Some dried herbs at the end with a slightly grilled-meat undertone. Drinkable now, but better in two or three years.
(2013) Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Pretty sweet with a flavour of dark chocolate. Much less sophisticated than Guado al Tasso itself. Some freshness on the very slightly drying finish. - Jancis Robinson
