  • For some months now, the world of Prosecco has been enriched by an unprecedented pink hue. It is the most interesting novelty in recent years, destined to further increase consumption occasions for the pleasant Veneto/Friuli sparkling wine. Astoria's interpretation of this new style is Vélere, Prosecco DOC Rosé, vintage, Extra Dry version. It is part of the so-called Venice Collection, easily recognisable by its softly shaped, worked bottles. It is made, as specifications dictate, from a blend of Glera grapes with a red wine made from Pinot Noir. Sparkling in an autoclave with a short rest on the lees to stabilise the delicate colour and make the whole more harmonious, and a hint of sweetness to make the wine even more pliant and drinkable. The result is a new bubbly, with a delicate colour and strong character. A tribute by Astoria to the craftswomen who dedicated their art to making sails for the galleys of the Serenissima Republic. The right wine with which to start a lunch or dinner with friends. Excellent as an aperitif, it can also accompany some tasty dishes such as pizza or a nice savoury pie.
