  • Sensations In the goblet it displays a sparkling salmon pink, typical of Nerello Mascalese. The exquisite bouquet envelops the nose in a delicate spicy texture, with delicious notes of red fruits, ripe peach and light reminiscences of passion fruit. The sip outlines a perfect balance between freshness and savouriness, tracing a persistent finish that lingers on mineral returns.
  • Vinification The grapes are harvested by hand, around mid-September. After undergoing a 3-4 hour maceration in a pneumatic press, the flower must thus obtained ferments at a controlled temperature (15 °C) for about 16 days.

  • The Etna area is an exceptional place and is distinguished by some unique characteristics. Starting with its unique microclimate, influenced by the volcanic soil and the high temperature range between night and day. The Scalunera line, a Sicilian word meaning 'stairway', takes its name from the lava stone walls that decorate the slopes of the volcano, recalling with their shapes the steps of an ancient amphitheatre. Scalunera Etna DOC Rosato is made from pure Nerello Mascalese grapes, an indigenous variety that over the centuries has adapted to the high altitude and peculiar composition of Etna's soils. The grapes are harvested by hand, around mid-September. In the cellar, vinification is super careful, respecting the raw material. The wine is left to mature on the lees for about 3 months before bottling. Delicately pink, it surprises on the nose with notes reminiscent of red fruits, passion fruit, and sweet spices. In the mouth, however, it presents a good balance between freshness and savouriness, with a lingering finish. A structured rosé but, at the same time, very drinkable. Perfect as an aperitif, it accompanies seafood, grilled fish or first courses with fish sauces.

    They rightly call themselves 'The Italian wine family'. After all, what is now a huge enterprise that revolves around the work of 7 wineries, in Tuscany but not only, and that is able to put millions of bottles of wine on the market every year, originates from a single small plot of land in Poggibonsi. It was purchased in 1882 by Angiolo Piccini who founded his own company with his wife, Maria Teresa Totti. From that small plot, 7 hectares in all, the first Chianti straw flasks were produced. The rest is history, work and commitment. Today, Mario Piccini, the fourth generation of the family, runs the company. With him are his sisters Martina and Elisa and his children Ginevra, Benedetta and Michelangelo, all personally involved in the company's activities. Five of the family's seven estates are cultivated according to organic farming principles.
