Technical Data Sheet
CHARACTERISTICS
  • TypeDry Still Red Wine DOC
  • Location Friuli-Venezia Giulia
  • Grapes 100% PINOT NOIR
  • Sensations A wine with a typical pale ruby red colour, with a fine and elegant bouquet characteristic of the vine, with hints of undergrowth fruit, especially blackberry, and nuances of vanilla. In the mouth it is soft and inviting, with a fine and persistent aftertaste.
  • Vinification After harvesting, vinification in red is carried out with the maceration of the skins, gradually increasing the fermentation temperature until it reaches 25-27degrees C. The low temperature of 12-13 degrees C at the beginning of the process allows the extraction of the colouring substances typical of this wine. After fermentation, the wine is placed in small 225-liter French oak barrels, where it remains for a period of about 12 months. It is then bottled and aged for at least 6 months in the bottle before being marketed.

    Pinot Noir DOC Friuli
  • Pinot Noir is an extremely versatile grape variety, originally from Burgundy and capable of adapting to different climates. Although not easy to grow, when it finds the right environment it is capable of producing wines of great pleasure. It is no coincidence that it is almost always vinified on its own. Tenuta Bosco Albano, thanks to the particular microclimate of its vineyards, is able to offer a very interesting version of Pinot Noir. Processed in stainless steel at a controlled temperature to bring out the freshness of the fruit, Bosco Albano's Pinot Nero matures for 12 months in French oak barriques before being bottled. It is characterized by its light ruby colour, a true joy for the eyes of all lovers of the type. The nose reveals a fine and elegant perfume, also in this case decidedly characteristic for the vine. There are hints of underbrush, and in particular blackberry, made more precious by sweet nuances of vanilla due to the passage in wood. In the mouth it is soft and inviting, with a fine and persistent aftertaste. A simple but elegant wine. The perfect complement to a savory meat dinner with friends.

The history of this beautiful Friulian company began in 1962, even if until 1990, the year in which the brothers Tarcisio and Luigi Durante began a profound restructuring, the company had a predominantly arable orientation. Today Tenuta Bosco Albano has rediscovered its full viticultural vocation. This is Pasiano di Pordenone, halfway between the Prealps and the Adriatic Sea. Here the approximately 40 hectares of property, closed land, enjoy a very special microclimate and favorable to the cultivation of varieties typical of the region. The estate, once made up of beech, poplar and oak woods, can count on a predominantly clayey soil, rich in marl, which hides an underground aquifer able to feed the drip irrigation of the entire vineyard.
