  • Vinification Steel vats are used for the vinification process. Maceration with the skins lasts for at least 15 days depending on the case with temperature control, which is kept below 29 degrees. During the first 2 days, delestage is carried out and in some batches the seeds are removed to reduce the bitter and herbaceous imprint. Frequent pumping over takes place over the next few days. After racking, a soft pressing max 1.2 atm is carried out. The flower wine thus obtained is stored in steel for further processing. Sulphur dioxide is used only at the end of fermentation and in minimum doses. Malolactic fermentation is induced and completed before maturation in 35hl barrels for 12 months.

  • If structure in a wine doesn't scare us, this is the right bottle to uncork at the first opportunity. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC Riserva of Tenuta Tre Gemme is produced with grapes from the estate's old vineyards, with plants over 40 years old. Great is therefore the concentration of the fruit and great, above all, is the skill with which these are transformed. Vinified in steel and cement tanks, the process begins with a phase of maceration of the skins that lasts for about two weeks. Then, at the end of fermentation and racking, the marc still rich in precious juice is soft-pressed to extract some more liquid. The flower wine obtained in this way is then stored in steel or cement for the subsequent malolactic fermentation. To finish, it is then matured in 35-hectolitre barrels for a period of at least 9 months. Deep ruby red in the glass, this wine has a pleasant bouquet reminiscent of cherry jam, vanilla and even cocoa. Good structure, excellent balance between all its components. A wine which is good today but which, if properly stored in the cellar, still has many years to surprise us. Try it in combination with well-flavoured first and second courses.

    We are in the heart of Abruzzo, in the so-called "Terra dei Vestini", an area particularly suited to the cultivation of vines. This is where the Tre Gemme Estate is located. The particular mix of soils, the great temperature range and the beneficial air currents coming from the sea and the mountains are the most important factors for the production of valuable grapes. Today, Tenuta Tre Gemme consists of approximately 70 hectares of vineyards, all of which are optimally exposed and located between 350 and 450 metres above sea level. The winery, on the other hand, is well equipped for vinification and has ideal spaces for ageing the wines. Carla and Anna Perrucci manage the estate with competence and a modern sensitivity towards respect for the environment. Tenuta Tre Gemme, in fact, works with organic farming and is careful to reduce energy consumption to a minimum, as well as recycling resources. But that's not all. Within the company, in fact, there is also a keen interest in ethical issues, particularly in relation to the workers on the land. Sensitivity that takes concrete form in the company's participation in national recovery and inclusion programmes. Tre Gemme wines are good wines that do not harm the environment but, above all, are good for mankind.
