CHARACTERISTICS
  • TypeVino rosso fermo
  • Location Veneto
  • Grapes 50% Corvina Veronese 30% Corvinone 15% Rondinella 5% Cabernet
  • Sensations Intense red wine with garnet highlights. Ethereal and enveloping bouquet, with delicately spicy notes of dried fruit and currants. Full and velvety flavour, with considerable structure.
  • Vinification The grapes are carefully selected in the vineyard and harvested in small crates. They are dried for about 3 to 4 months in dry, well-aired rooms. When they reach the ideal degree of drying, they are pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Once fermentation has started, it continues for about 30 days to allow the full development of the high alcohol content of the wine. After an initial evolution in cement for a few months - in order to allow malolactic fermentation to take place - refinement begins in medium and large oak casks for about 3 years. After bottling, the wine rests for at least 6 months in the bottle.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG "Reius" 2018
  • The grapes, Corvina Veronese in clear majority, then Corvinone and Rondinella, as well as a small part of Cabernet, come strictly from vineyards located in the historic area of the appellation. This is why Reius, Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, can boast the term "Classico". The grapes, carefully selected in the vineyard and harvested in small crates, are left to dry for about 3 or 4 months in dry, well-ventilated rooms. Only when they reach the ideal degree of drying are they pressed and left to ferment in steel tanks. The process of slow transformation continues for about 30 days, until the right alcohol content is reached. At that point, the wine is first placed in cement tanks for a few months, then it is transferred to medium and large oak barrels, where it waits for about 3 years to reach the right level of maturity. A wine of intense red colour with garnet hues, the nose reveals an ethereal and enveloping bouquet, with spicy, dried fruit and currant notes. In the mouth, on the other hand, it shows a full and velvety flavour, with considerable structure. An important and intense wine, it requires the right combination to be fully appreciated. Excellent with important dishes based on game, but also spicy and well-aged cheeses.

In 2018, the Sartori winery turned 120 years old. This fact is probably enough to understand that it is one of the most incredible realities of the Veronese territory. The story of Sartori began in 1898 when Pietro bought his first vineyard in Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella. An "eccentric personality, but magmatic from a business point of view", as Pietro Sartori is described by his heirs, he was one of the most appreciated "restaurateurs" in the area. In fact, the Sartori trattoria was an essential address for merchants, businessmen and small industrialists in the area, to whom Pietro never failed to offer an excellent Veronese Rosso wine, as it was called at the time. Hence, first the decision to expand his business as a wine merchant, and then the decision to start producing on his own, so that good wine would never be missing from the tables of his loyal customers. Today, Sartori is a successful company with an international vocation, achieving over 80% of its turnover in more than 50 countries, in Europe, North and South America, Russia and South East Asia. In its range, proudly, the great Veronese classics: Valpolicella, Soave, Bardolino, Bardolino Chiaretto, always reinterpreted in an elegant and personalised way.
