The Ornellaia Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is a real charmer of a wine with a sweet, soft and supple disposition. The exact blend is 54% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Fermentation starts in stainless steel, and the wine is then racked over to barrique to complete malolactic fermentation. It ages in oak for 15 months. The whole entire presentation here is seamless, from start to finish, with dark fruit and cherry slowly folding into leather, spice and pipe tobacco. Fruit was denser and more compact in this hot and dry vintage, and you absolutely feel that extra richness and concentration.

Le Serre Nuove is a wine produced by one of Italy's most iconic wineries: Ornellaia is a pleasantly simple but not banal red wine, obtained from the youngest vineyards of the estate and produced with the same passion and attention to detail reserved for the more famous Supertuscan. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot is a perfect example of how the typical grape varieties of the Bordeaux area have found an ideal habitat here, just a few kilometres from the Tyrrhenian Sea. Intense ruby red with garnet hues, this wine has a broad and enveloping bouquet. Notes of red and black fruits, flowers, spices and coffee. jn the mouth it is satisfying, with a natural softness and an absolute balance between all its components. The finish is long and leaves a velvety sensation in the mouth due to the finesse of its well-smoothed tannins.
There is a common thread that unites all the wines produced by Ornellaia: absolute elegance and high quality. To achieve such a high standard every year, shortcuts cannot be taken. The only way is to work meticulously and competently in the vineyard to be able to bring only the best grapes to the winery according to the climatic characteristics of each year. And if this were not enough, each bunch harvested at Ornellaia is then subjected to a double selection: a first sorting table to verify the quality and then a second check to remove any residual vegetation.
