There is nothing more Slovenian than this Krasno, Orange wine made from a blend of three typical grape varieties: Ribolla, Tocai and Malvasia A super-dry and "vertical" wine, as the technicians say, that comes from a long pellicular maceration of white grapes. A kind of red winemaking of white grapes. The result is a wine characterized by a light copper color with amber hues. On the nose it is easy to distinguish notes of quince, ripe and cooked pear, and even hints of thyme and herbs. In the mouth, it stands out for its distinct minerality. Then one recognizes hints of citrus and again of thyme. The tannins, present here, are delicate and sweet, with a long, fresh and lasting aftertaste reminiscent of roasted almonds. A wine with moderate aging potential, the winemakers of Klet Brda are confident that it can safely evolve for up to 10 years. It is a perfect orange wine to end an evening with friends on a high note, but it can also provide good insights at the dinner table. Try it, for example, with fish or chicken dishes, spiced and baked. There are also those who offer it in combination with Asian cuisine.
