"Mabilia" Cirò DOC Rosé 2022

Fortunately, the days are long gone when Gaglioppo, a noble son of Calabria, was considered a minor grape variety in Italian oenology. Today, fortunately, thanks to its considerable potential, it has been rediscovered and exploited to the full, by passionate producers who have made it one of the most appreciated varieties in Calabrian oenology. Among its 'pluses' is undoubtedly the great versatility that makes Gaglioppo suitable for various styles of vinification. Even in pink, as is well demonstrated by this Mabilia, Cirò DOC Rosè, 100% Gaglioppo, proposed by Ippolito 1845. It is produced from grapes harvested when fully ripe in the most suitable flat areas. After a quick maceration on the skins and careful vinification at a controlled temperature, before bottling this rosé is only refined in steel. In the glass it has a beautiful soft pink colour, elegant and delicate. The nose captivates with fragrant notes reminiscent of sweet fruit, such as melon and pink grapefruit. In the mouth it is fresh, savoury and has a nice balance between all its components. The great persistence makes this Calabrian rosé an extremely versatile wine, also in terms of pairing. Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with delicately flavoured fish or meat dishes.
