    CHARACTERISTICS
    • TypeVino spumante brut
    • Location Lombardy
    • Grapes chardonnay 100%
    • Sensations Straw yellow in colour with golden reflections, it has a fine and persistent perlage and a soft and creamy mousse. It releases intense citrus and tropical fruit notes on the nose. On the palate, it is enveloping and structured, with intriguing hints of hazelnut in the aftertaste.
    • Vinification The harvest takes place between August and September. The grapes are harvested manually and placed in 20kg crates. The must is made using gravity-fed presses to preserve the fragrance of the fruit as much as possible. The vinification aims to preserve the right ripeness of the grapes and only the noble fractions of the pressing are used, using only the first pressings, with a maximum yield of 30%. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks, followed by 9 months of ageing on fine lees at low temperature. The aim is to give the wine the refinement and elegance typical of Satèn Franciacorta, thanks to ageing on the lees for at least 30 months and a slightly lower dosage. The result is a balanced and harmonious Satèn, with an enveloping structure and a creamy softness.
    • Alcoholic strength 12.5% vol
    • Allergens Contains sulphites

Franciacorta Brut "Essence" Satèn DOCG Magnum 2019
    • It is spelled ‘Satèn’ but pronounced Franciacorta DOCG. This type of sparkling wine, reserved exclusively for Franciacorta DOCG, is always based on a wine produced exclusively from white grapes, Chardonnay, as in this case, or Pinot Bianco. Its main characteristic, however, is the moderate pressure in the bottle, which gives it a particular softness reminiscent of silk. Essence Satèn is Antica Fratta's interpretation of this Franciacorta style, where citrus notes blend elegantly with hints of exotic fruits. Delicately effervescent, it is a non-vintage product, aged in the bottle for a minimum of 24 months, as required by the Franciacorta DOCG regulations. Straw yellow with golden reflections, it has a particularly fine perlage and a soft, creamy mousse. The nose is intense and harmonious. On the palate, it is enveloping, elegant and persistent. It requires a delicate pairing. It is ideal as an aperitif but also accompanies delicate fish or shellfish dishes with real satisfaction.

The Antica Fratta winery boasts a long history, closely linked to that of the Franciacorta region. Its origins date back to the mid-19th century, when Cavaliere di Gran Croce Luigi Rossetti, a wealthy wine merchant from the area, transformed an ancient 16th-century farmhouse into his residence, renovating the old cellars dug into the rock of the hill on which the villa stands and making them not only a showcase of excellence for his business, a personal jewel for storing his selections. After the knight's death, the property passed from hand to hand until 1979, when the modern Antica Fratta began production. Over the years, the company has been able to push its horizons further and further, becoming one of the great names of Franciacorta.
