Millè Franciacorta Brut DOCG Millesimato

Franciacorta is one of the most renowned classic method sparkling wines produced in Italy. Together with Asti and Marsala, it is one of the only three cases in which it is sufficient to indicate the name without mentioning DOCG. Villa Crespia pays homage to this great sparkling wine right from its name: in the Middle Ages, "Crespie" were sparkling wines. "When I was a researcher in the field of oenology” explains Francesco Iacono, oenologist at Arcipelago Muratori , “I participated in a study conducted in Franciacorta to identify the nature of the soils. We discovered that in the small territory known by this appellation, just over 2000 hectares, there are no less than six different environments. I based the personality of Villa Crespia Franciacorta wines on these six different environments, each of which brings distinct characteristics to the grapes that I want to find in the glass. The Villa Crespia estate has a cellar which was inaugurated in 2005, called "Cantina Più Dodici Meno Dodici": from ground level it rises twelve metres with the reception and office areas, and falls to minus twelve with the wine-making and storage areas, with a total of over 20 thousand square metres of floor space.
