Potrero Chardonnay Valle de Uco 2020

Vinos de Potrero focuses its production on red wines but, when it tries its hand at making a white wine, it shows that it has all the makings of a good one. The one presented here, in fact, according to the judgment of several international wine critics, is one of the most interesting expressions of New World whites. Indeed, this Chardonnay from the Gualtallary region combines the purity of the fruit with the mineral notes of the terroir of origin. A wine that manages to be fresh and easy to drink without lacking in complexity. The grapes come from a vineyard planted in 2012, characterized by a steep slope and perfect northern exposure (perfect since we are in the other hemisphere). This ensures good sunshine and ripeness. In the winery, 10% of the wine is fermented in used French barrels. 4 months in steel tanks. Fermentation is initiated by indigenous yeasts and continued by inoculation of selected cultured yeasts. After vinification, for the maturation stage, 20 percent of the mass is placed in French oak barrels for a period of six months before final blending and bottling.
