  • Sensations The main grape variety of the Judrio Valley is dressed in an intense ruby red. The nose is decisive and aromatic, with a complex bouquet that cannot leave one indifferent. The typical aromas of berries, currants and plums meet cinnamon and pepper, liquorice and clove. The flavour is no less: intense and full but also fresh and velvety, it has an inimitable harmony all its own, closing with a remarkable persistence.
  • Vinification We manually harvest the grapes at the right degree of ripeness, which, once crushed and destemmed, we place in steel tanks. Here the must macerates and ferments on the skins for about 20 days, carrying out malolactic fermentation at the same time. After racking, the wine is aged in French oak barriques for 18 months. The best barrels are assembled in steel tanks for a period of about 3 months. We usually bottle the wine in mid-December, and then give it a further period of refinement in the bottle of 4/6 months.

  • There is nothing more Friulian than a nice glass of Schioppetino. When the wine in question is produced by Ronco dei Pini and the hand is that of Claudio Novello, then things get even more interesting. In fact, it start by being harvested by hand, quickly brought to the winery and vinified in steel at a controlled temperature. This is followed by the classic malolactic conversion that makes the wine slightly rounder and helps to smooth out its sharpest edges, and an ageing in French oak barriques that lasts for over a year and a half. Only at that point the wine is blended and, after a period of about 3 months of rest in tanks, it is sent to the bottling phase. The main grape variety of the Judrio Valley, the natural border between Italy and Slovenia, it has a reassuringly intense ruby red colour in the glass. The nose is assertive and aromatic, with notes of berries, currants and plums that meet cinnamon, pepper, liquorice and leather. In the mouth it is intense and full, fresh and velvety. An extremely harmonious wine, endowed with a long olfactory persistence.
