Pinot Grigio Collio DOC

Pinot Grigio has long been one of the most popular and "fashionable" Italian wines. Market success led in the 1980s to a significant increase in quality, first in the Veneto and Trentino regions, then in Friuli, particularly in the Collio area, where today Pinot Grigio is particularly rich and fragrant. If vinified in contact with the skins, it takes on its characteristic coppery colour, although it is more common in the "white" version.The history of Pighin wines began in 1963, when the brothers Luigi, Ercole and Fernando purchased an estate of 200 hectares in Risano (UD). In 1968, after significant renovation work that lasted almost 5 years, a further 30 hectares in Spessa di Capriva (GO) completed the work. In 2004, the property passed totally into the hands of Fernando, who today runs the company together with his wife Danila and their children Roberto and Raffaella, with the same "family" spirit as always: only their own grapes and total control of the production cycle, from the vineyard to the bottle.The company's range is wide and articulated, and includes the most representative white and red wines of the Friulian production, in the Friuli Grave and Collio DOC areas, two of the most vocational areas of the region.
