  • Vinification After harvesting, the grapes are separated from the stalks and placed in tanks for red vinification. The period of contact between skins and liquid is about 10-15 days. afterwards it is left to mature for 12 months in oak barrels where it also undergoes malolactic fermentation and for about 6 months in the bottle

    Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Friuli DOC 2021
  • A red wine of the territory, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is an ancient indigenous variety, born between Carso and Istria, whose presence in our north-east has been witnessed as far back as 1467. Russiz Superiore cultivates it in its vineyards in Capriva del Friuli, where it reaches perfect ripeness and is harvested by hand to be quickly delivered to the winery and begin processing. The de-stemmed grapes are placed in tanks equipped for red vinification where alcoholic fermentation takes place, with maceration of the skins lasting about 10-15 days, depending on the vintage. The wine is then left to mature for twelve months in oak barrels, where it also undergoes malolactic fermentation. After bottling, the wine then matures for a further six months in the bottle. Intense red in colour with slight ruby hues, the nose is enveloping and intriguing, fresh and fruity. Characterised by fragrances reminiscent of raspberry and wild blackberry. In the mouth, expectations are amply fulfilled and the wine proves to be particularly persistent, prolonging the pleasure of each sip for several seconds. On the table, one is spoilt for choice. In fact, it goes well with sliced meats and cold cuts, mature cheeses, tasty meat-based first courses and second courses, again meat-based, stewed or grilled.

    Russiz Superiore is undoubtedly one of the most representative of its territory. That Friuli that has always been considered a benchmark in terms of quality. The winery, owned by the Felluga family, is located in Capriva del Friuli, in one of the most famous and vocated areas of the Gorizia Collio. The family's link with this area dates back to the arrival of Giovanni Felluga, scion of a family of Istrian winegrowers who moved to Friuli after the First World War. He was succeeded by his son Marco, an oenologist, who founded the winery of the same name, which over time was joined by Russiz Superiore, created to promote the wines made in the Capriva del Friuli area. Today Roberto Felluga heads the two companies, with his daughter Ilaria ready to give continuity to the family business. Today Russiz Superiore extends, in a single body around the winery, over the splendid hills of Capriva del Friuli. The varieties cultivated are: Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
