Quvée is an evocative neologism, shaped by two essential concepts: the name of the company, synthesized by its initial Q, which cheekily and strongly replaces the C of Cuvée. In fact, the vintage "quvée" takes its number from the progressive creation of the cuvée that it identifies, in the history of Quadra, the vintage brut from the 2004 harvest to the 2010 harvest Starting with the 2010 vintage (quvée 55), this Franciacorta becomes the interpreter of the extra-brut typology that starting with the historic 2011 vintage, and after more than 60 months of refinement in the bottle, evolves further, deserving the name RISERVA.
Quadra was founded in 2003 from an idea by Ugo Ghezzi, an entrepreneur in the renewable energy sector who, supported by his children Cristina and Marco, decided to buy a small winery, which he completely renovated. The Ghezzi family's wine-growing project had already begun in the early 1990s with the planting of the first Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards in Marzaghette di Adro, giving rise to the farm of the same name. Today the property has 20 hectares spread over five different sites in the area.
