Lagrein is a black grape variety native to Alto Adige, which can be made into red or rosé wine. This version (in red) by Provinco fully expresses all the characteristics that distinguish this type of grape. In the glass it has a beautiful intense ruby colour, while the nose has scents of violets and red flowers. The aging of a few months in oak barrels gives it structure and the typical spicy notes of wood, which close the perfect circle started with the aromas of blackberry, blueberry and wild berries. When you're in the mood for a mountain dinner, you can just whip up a nice pot roast with some polenta. Then you uncork this Lagrein, and in no time you find yourself in a chalet above Bolzano.
