  • Sensations A red wine very deep ruby red in colour with intense hints of wild berries (raspberry, redcurrant and blackberry) and vanilla; the remarkable olfactory complexity is also found in the mouth, in all its fullness. A wine of remarkable structure, with a perfect balance between tannins and acidity, pleasantly lively and persistent on the palate
  • Vinification In the "dunkel" type vinification is the traditional red wine one, with fermentation taking place at a temperature of 28-29?C and with a long maceration on the skins in small stainless steel tanks, to allow a better contact between must and solid parts. At the end of alcoholic fermentation it is placed in barriques where malolactic fermentation takes place, at the end of which begins an aging of 12-14 months. Before bottling, it undergoes further refinement in small oak barrels for another 4-6 months

VINEYARD
  • Terrain On the hills of the Adige Valley, the vineyards are located on glacial or morainal terraces, with brown, moderately deep, well-drained soils with a gravelly-stony matrix. In Vallagarina the vineyards are located on the conoids formed by the deposits of ancient streams, where we have calcareous, well-structured and well-drained soils, with many pebbles and a fair clay content

    Bottega Vinai Lagrein Trentino DOC 2020
  • The origins of Lagrein are lost in time. It seems that it was already cultivated in the 16th century by the Benedictine Fathers in Gries di Bolzano. Today it is widely diffused in all Trentino, to the point that someone hypothesizes that its name derives from that of Vallagarina. CAVIT offers it in this elegant version, produced from grapes harvested in the best exposed areas of the Adige Valley and Vallagarina, with good temperature range between day and night. Traditional red wine vinification, maceration and fermentation take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers. Then, at the end of the alcoholic fermentation, the wine is put into oak barriques where the malolactic fermentation takes place and where it is aged for over a year. But that's not enough. Before bottling, in fact, the wine undergoes further aging in small oak barrels for another 4-6 months. The result is a beautiful glass of very intense ruby red colour, with hints of berries, and in particular raspberry, currant and blackberry, and clear hints of vanilla. In the mouth it is well structured, with a perfect balance between tannins and acidity. Easy to pair with satisfaction, it is a wine that goes well with hot appetizers, pasta dishes dressed with meat sauces or chicken cacciatora.
