"Vigneto Cialdini" Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC - Cleto Chiarli

The French would call it "cru" and probably charge an arm and a leg for it. Cleto Chiarli, on the contrary, just put the name of the historic vineyard of about 13 hectares on the label, from which the grapes used to produce this "Vigneto Cialdini" come, to show to the many fans of Lambrusco that what they are about to taste is not the usual product. This Grasparossa is considered to be the highest expression of this extraordinary grape variety. The grapes, selected and harvested by hand, are pressed and vinified at a controlled temperature in the winery. Secondary fermentation proceeds slowly and the wine is bottled only after an adequate period of refinement. The result is a wine with a lively character, capable of surprising due to its many facets.

It's hard to think about the world of quality Lambrusco without pausing for a moment on the Cleto Chiarli Company that has had its roots in the tradition and history of the province of Modena for over a century and a half. A family-run business that for years has been producing millions of bottles of the world's best-loved sparkling red wine and exporting them to practically every corner of the globe. A story that started with the production destined for the customers of the small family tavern and that culminated in obtaining the "Mention Honorable" at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900. Today the company can count on a surface area of 100 hectares of vines and, interestingly and uncommonly for the area, makes wine exclusively from grapes grown on its own land.
