    "Quota 29" Susumaniello Salento IGT 2023
  • A wine of territory and tradition. We are talking about a Salento IGT Quota 29 Susumaniello. Apulian red with a lively character. An intriguing and vibrant wine capable of giving great satisfaction to those who try it. Produced by Cantina Menhir in Lecce, this pure Susumaniello is a real discovery for lovers of southern Italian wines. Susumaniello grapes enjoy a warm, Mediterranean climate, only mitigated by sea breezes. Ideal conditions for growing grapes of the highest quality, rich in aromas and flavours. Harvesting is manual, in the first week of September. Red vinification with temperature-controlled maceration, for 10 days, enhances the aromas and flavours of Susumaniello. The wine then matures in steel for a few months, completing its evolution process. Intense ruby red colour with violet hues. On the nose, a range of fruity aromas of blackberry and cherry intertwine with floral notes of violet and spicy hints of black pepper. In the mouth it is pleasantly soft and enveloping, with a balanced structure and pleasant freshness. The finish is persistent, with hints of medicinal herbs. A pleasantly versatile wine, it lends itself to being paired with a wide variety of dishes. Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with hors d'oeuvres of cold meats and cheeses, pasta dishes with meat sauce or main courses of red or white meat.
