    CHARACTERISTICS
    • TypeVino rosso fermo
    • Location Côtes du Rhône
    • Grapes Grenache 60%, syrah 30%, mourvedre 10%
    • Sensations The wine shows an intense garnet red colour with violet reflections. On the nose it offers aromas of wild red fruit jam (strawberry, blackcurrant, raspberry) with spicy notes of peppermint that provide a pleasant freshness. On the palate, the attack is soft and round, with hints of ripe fruit combined with light spices such as cinnamon and vanilla, blended with pleasant brioche notes. The soft and well-integrated tannins give this wine breadth and volume on the palate.
    • Vinification The work begins in the vineyard with the selection of plots: old Grenache vines (about 60–70 years) and younger vines (about 20–30 years), with the best exposures selected. Each grape variety is vinified separately after complete destemming. Vinification is long (2 to 3 weeks) at controlled temperature (around 30 °C), enhancing sweet spices and fruitiness. Frequent pump-overs ensure optimal colour extraction. Ageing : the wine is aged exclusively in large oak casks for 9–12 months to preserve all the fresh fruit in our wines.

"Les Rabassières" Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2024
    • We are in the heart of the southern Rhône Valley, a region where the sun is intense and the Mistral wind blows strongly across the vineyards. Maison Bouachon established its home here in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in 1898, beginning its journey not as winegrowers but as master coopers. This artisanal heritage can still be felt today. Their knowledge of wood allows them to create wines of rare elegance, capable of taming the power of the local nature. For Les Rabassières Rouge, Maison Bouachon chooses a classic blend composed of Grenache (60%), Syrah (30%) and Mourvèdre for the remaining share. The grapes come from a mix of old vines around 70 years old, which provide depth, and younger vines of about 30 years that guarantee the freshness of the fruit. In the cellar, vinification is slow and lasts up to three weeks, with constant pump-overs to extract all the colour and tannin structure. Ageing then continues for about a year, exclusively in large oak casks. Deep garnet red with violet reflections, the nose recalls strawberry jam, blackcurrant and raspberry, refreshed by a touch of peppermint. On the palate, the attack is round and enveloping, almost buttery, with hints of cinnamon and vanilla reminiscent of the fragrance of a freshly baked brioche. The tannins are silky, perfectly integrated into a volume that fills the palate without ever weighing it down. This red has broad shoulders and excellent ageing potential. It is the classic wine to share, capable of pleasing both newcomers and great enthusiasts.

It all began in 1898. The Bouachon family, master coopers for generations, were dedicated to crafting casks and barriques for the winegrowers of the region. Breathing in the scent of wine through the oak staves and spending time among the finest vineyards of the area, they eventually decided to try producing wine themselves. That is how the Bouachons began filling their own barrels with wines born from their careful selection of grapes. Since then, what was once an artisan workshop has become an authoritative signature, capable of interpreting the territory with sensitivity, combining technical knowledge of wood with a deep love for the land. Maison Bouachon is based in the famous “Pavillon” in the centre of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, yet its outlook embraces the entire Rhône Valley.
