    "Terre Lontane" Calabria IGT Rosato 2023
  • Terre Lontane, IGT Calabria, is a very pleasant rosé from Librandi. The winery is undeniably one of the best known in the region. The Librandi family, in fact, has made an active contribution to raising the quality of Calabrian wines, especially enhancing the region's rich heritage of typical grape varieties. As in this case. In Terre Lontane, in fact, the protagonist is the most popular red grape variety, Gaglioppo, which on this occasion is flanked and ennobled by 30% Cabernet Franc grapes. A delicate, velvety and fruity rosé, the harvest takes place in the first week of September. Vinification, traditional in temperature-controlled steel tanks, involves the use of the "salasso" technique and a brief maceration of the skins with the must. This is followed by an ageing phase, again in steel, and a resting period of a few months in the bottle before final release. As often happens when tasting a rosé wine of this type, it is easy to find the right match. A wine of great versatility, it goes well with both meat dishes and fish. Excellent with a soup or a nice slice of swordfish with cherry tomatoes and potatoes.
