  • If "Quelli del Geografico" have built their popularity on Sangiovese, and Chianti in particular, with the passing of the years and the entry of new member producers, production has grown and gradually diversified. And today it also includes wines, like the Borgo alla Terra proposed here, that belong to other Tuscan appellations. In this case, in particular, it is an interesting Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, produced from grapes that are destemmed and softly crushed. Fermentation of the first-pressing must at controlled temperature in steel tanks, to obtain a wine of great pleasantness and immediacy. Pale golden yellow in colour, it has a fine, elegant, intense and persistent bouquet. It is clearly reminiscent of broom, flint and even saffron. The mouthfeel, however, is fresh, fruity and has a good structure. Perfect as a glass to start the evening, it is a wine that will not struggle to find its place on the table, especially if lunch or dinner includes delicate dishes, such as vegetable pies or pasta dishes with fish.
