"Terravignata" Verdicchio Di Matelica DOC Biologico

Borgo Paglianetto is located in the central area of the Matelica Valley, which extends into the territory from Fabriano to Camerino. A splendid and uncontaminated area, which has the particular characteristic of being the only valley in the Marche region on a north-south axis, compared to the usual west-east orientation of the Apennine side of the Adriatic. The first spurs of the Apennines keep it separate from the territory of Jesi and Macerata, confining it to an area further away from the sea and with a cooler, continental climate, characterized by considerable temperature ranges, both seasonal and between day and night. In this beautiful area, the cultivation of the vine dates back to pre-Roman times and is still part of the daily life of the population. Borgo Paglianetto cultivates 25 hectares under certified organic farming, in a beautiful hilly area not far from the village of Matelica. The calcareous-clayey soil, of ancient marine origin, and the particular microclimate of the valley, allow for the ripening of aromatically intense and rich grapes that always retain a high degree of acidity. These characteristics give the wines a particular and harmonious balance between ripe fruit, expressive depth and lively freshness, also giving extraordinary longevity.
