Sauvignon Blanc Grande Cuvèe 2021

The classification of this wine, Wine of Origin Cape Coast, indicates that the origin of the grapes is limited to the coastal area, where the influence of the ocean is felt most. Grande Cuvée Sauvignon Blanc from Boschendal is a fine example of the freshness and breadth of aromas, typical of South African wines. Nearly pure Sauvignon Blanc, with the addition of a small percentage of Semillon grapes, this fresh, young white comes from careful processing, carried out in an anaerobic environment, to reduce exposure to oxygen and protect the delicate varietal flavors. The same care is also taken in the delicate fermentation phase, which takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel. After processing is complete, the wine is then left on the lees, with weekly pumping over, for at least one month. Straw yellow with fresh greenish hues, the nose has lively notes of tropical fruits, lime and green fig. In the mouth, however, it is full-bodied and harmonious, with a lingering mineral finish. Among the main aromas, it is easy to recognize notes of yellow and green tropical fruits and hints of citrus. Good balance between acidity and structure. A ready-to-drink and very pleasant white, it accompanies a good aperitif and an all-fish menu.
