Newen Patagonia Malbec 2021

Despite its French origins, Malbec has always been considered the epitome of winemaking Argentina. Here, in fact, on the poor soils of mountain vineyards, Malbec is able to express itself at its best, resulting in wines with great personality. Like this Newen proposed by Bodega Del Fin du Mundo. We are in Patagonia, an extreme but fascinating place where growing grapes requires a lot of strength and determination. In the winery, the course of this wine begins with a maceration phase that extends for about 25 days. Then, after racking and malolactic fermentation, the wine goes into French and American oak barrels for a period of no less than 4 months of maturation. Deep red color with violet hues, the nose reveals floral aromas of violets, with fruity notes of plums and red fruit jam. Then vanilla, toasted notes and coconut. In the mouth, however, it is pleasantly fruity, with nice acidity, good structure and soft tannins. The finish is particularly long and rewarding.
