    San Felipe Roble Malbec 2022
  • The Mendoza area of Argentina is considered one of the best for producing quality wines. While Malbec, for its part, is one of the country's iconic grape varieties. It is easy to imagine, then, that this Malbec Roble San Felipe fully represents South American winemaking excellence. 100% Malbec, sourced from the company's own vineyards, this red expresses all the goodness of the varietal, thanks to careful and painstaking winemaking, with control of fermentation temperatures, long skin maceration and, above all, with limited use of wood for the delicate maturation phase. In this case, the winery's technicians envisioned a rest of about 9 months in American oak barrels, enough to add that typical sweet note, without distorting the starting fruit. This reveals a wine characterized by a beautiful red-purple color with plum reflections. The characteristic floral note reminiscent of violets appears immediately on the nose, combined with vibrant accents of dark, red fruit jam. In the mouth, the sensations are very consistent. Indeed, this Malbec is characterized by great pleasantness and simple but not trivial drinking. It is the right wine to accompany red meat lunches and dinners. As a perfect Argentine, it is an ideal red for the grill.

There is a little bit of Italy in Bodega La Rural. Yes, because it was an Italian, who emigrated like so many fellow countrymen to Argentina, to have founded Bodega. It is the late 1800s and the founder of the winery is named Felipe Rutini. We are in Coquimbito, a rural district in the department of Maipú, Mendoza province. From a small entity to a benchmark for quality winemaking in Argentina, the Bodega's journey has been a long one. Thanks in part to a major technological renovation that began in the 1990s.
