Newen Patagonia Pinot Noir 2021

It takes a lot of courage and strength to decide to start growing grapes in the highest vineyards in the world. In this case we can safely speak of heroic viticulture. We are in Patagonia, in the heart of Argentina, and here Bodega Del Fin du Mundo proves vintage after vintage that it has all the right characteristics to meet this challenge. And this Newen Pinot Noir is a fine example of that. Harvested by hand and macerated for about 21 days, at the end of vinification the Pinot Noir finishes its transformation with a short period of maturation in wood. About 4 months, in French and American oak barrels are enough to give the right complexity to the finished wine. Bright ruby red in color, Newen's nose reveals a pleasantly fruity aroma, with notes of cherries and small berries in good evidence. The passage in wood, however brief, gives the wine a delicate spiciness, with hints of vanilla and coconut. An excellent wine for the entire meal, this Newen Pinot Noir effortlessly accompanies both first and main courses of red meat. Excellent with cured meats and medium-aged cheeses.
