    Pinot Noir Bourgogne AOC 2024
    • Leynes is a small village nestled along that subtle border where southern Burgundy meets Beaujolais, a place where the landscape changes rhythm and the soil begins to tell different stories. Here, the Chardigny family has cultivated vines for more than two centuries, but it was with the arrival of brothers Pierre-Maxime and Victor-Emmanuel that the estate embraced a completely organic philosophy. The Chardigny brothers inherited not only the vineyards, but above all a deep knowledge of the local microclimates, deciding in 2014 to convert the entire property to organic farming in order to preserve this heritage. Their Pinot Noir is the result of this uncompromising choice: a wine that does not seek to impress with power or special effects, but instead focuses entirely on purity of fruit and precision of execution. In the cellar, the philosophy is one of “minimal intervention”. The grapes are fully destemmed in order to avoid excessive green notes and favour softness instead. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, a precise technical choice designed to preserve the aromatic freshness of the red fruits intact. After fermentation, the wine rests for at least six months on its fine lees, again in stainless steel. In the glass it appears bright ruby red with the transparency typical of the variety. On the nose, small red berries dominate: raspberry, crunchy cherry and a delicate touch of black pepper on the finish. On the palate the sip is agile and vibrant. The acidity is beautifully balanced by fine, almost weightless tannins that make the wine exceptionally easy to drink. It is not a wine that tires the palate – quite the opposite – thanks to its clean and refreshing finish, it constantly invites another glass. This Pinot Noir shows its best side within the first three or four years after harvest. Designed to be enjoyed young, when the fruit’s energy is at its peak, although its structure allows it to evolve beautifully for a short period in the cellar.

A place where the precision of Burgundy meets the vibrant joy of Beaujolais. We are in Leynes, a small village resting on a sort of “geological frontier”, where Domaine Chardigny stands. A winery with more than two hundred years of history behind it, reborn thanks to the vision of three brothers – Pierre-Maxime, Victor-Emmanuel and Jean-Baptiste – who in 2015 decided to take back the reins of the family estate in order to write a new, fresh and deeply sustainable chapter. The beauty of this estate lies in the union of different talents. One brother looks after the commercial side, another studied oenology and gained experience in legendary wineries such as Foradori in Italy, while Jean-Baptiste spent years working as vineyard manager at one of the world’s true temples of wine, Domaine Leflaive. This combination of expertise has transformed the Domaine into a laboratory of excellence. The entire 20-hectare estate is organically certified and follows biodynamic practices, with the aim of allowing the soil to speak without chemical interference. What makes Domaine Chardigny’s wines truly unique is the terroir. The winery lies precisely on the fault line where the soil changes character: to the north dominate the clays and Jurassic limestone of the Mâconnais, the natural homeland of Chardonnay. To the south begin the volcanic and granitic soils of Beaujolais, the undisputed kingdom of Gamay.
