    Pomino Pinot Nero DOC
  • There is a corner of Chianti, east of Florence, where Sangiovese is forced to abdicate before the noble Pinot Noir. We are in the Pomino Estate, which dates back to 1500 and belongs to the Frescobaldi family. In this magical place, the vineyards enjoy unique conditions, thanks to a slight elevation and a cool, breezy microclimate. Pomino Nero is the Tuscan interpretation of an elegant international wine. Brilliant ruby red color with light garnet hues, on the nose it reveals notes of small red and black fruits. Raspberry, wild strawberry, black cherry, blueberry and blackberry blend with a delicate spice that recalls cinnamon, star anise and white pepper. Then memories of roasting due to 15 months and more spent in wood, tobacco and coffee. on the palate it is fresh, well balanced, with a nice taste-olfactory correspondence. Elegant and velvety, it has silky tannins and a long finish.

Thirty generations and over 700 years of history. With these two "business cards", the Frescobaldi winery presents itself on markets around the world as an absolute protagonist, with the objective of becoming the most prestigious Tuscan wine producer. Today the company can count on an immense area of vineyards. We are talking about more than 1000 hectares, scattered in the most interesting wine areas of the region. The annual production is around seven million bottles and includes all the most important denominations, from Chianti to Pomino, passing through Montalcino and Maremma. Traditional varieties are grown in each area, thanks to perfect knowledge of the specific terroirs. Never more so than in this case... experience really does make a difference.
