    Champagne Barons de Rothschild Rosé
  • The excellence of Champagne. The prestigious Maison Barons de Rothschild offers it here with this Rosé Sans année. Made with grapes from the Reims area and a blend almost exclusively based on Chardonnay (94%), with a small addition of Pinot Noir to give colour. Harvested by hand in small crates, the grapes are soon delivered to the cellar for processing. Alcoholic fermentation in small stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, the bases also undergo malolactic fermentation and long ageing on the fine lees for about 6 or 7 months. The Pinot Noir, on the other hand, is vinified in red in dedicated vats. Sparkling and maturing in the bottle for about 30 months, after disgorging this rosé is dosed with 6 grams of sugar per litre. Afterwards, before going on sale, the wine rests for a further 6 months. In the glass, it has a beautiful pale pink colour with salmon reflections. The bubbles are fine and carry typical Chardonnay aromas and a mineral note to the nose. Then fresh fruit, citrus and white flowers. With the passing of the minutes, as the temperature gradually rises, the wine reveals notes of raspberries, rose petals and wild strawberries attributable to Pinot Noir. In the mouth, the wine is fresh and precise, with a silky texture and acidulous notes of lemon and citrus fruits. A structured wine, it surprises with its long and pleasantly mineral finish. A versatile bubble, this Rosé Champagne accompanies a full lunch with ease. It goes well, in particular, with Asian or Japanese cuisine, rich in decisive flavours. But also with sushi, sashimi and tuna tartare.

Maison Barons de Rothschild was founded in 2005 by the historic family, backed by more than two centuries of entrepreneurial spirit and fascinated by the world's greatest terroirs. Barons de Rothschild focuses on excellence, taste and conviviality, while continuing to innovate to constantly improve the quality of its products. Based in Reims, close to illustrious properties, the Maison presented its first cuvées in 2009. Particularly focused on the production of high-quality wines, the Maison can count on the collaboration of key figures in Champagne, such as Frédéric Mairesse, the Maison's General Manager, and Guillaume Lété, Chef de Cave. Made from a blend of Grand Cru and Premier Cru from the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, the cuvées are aged for at least four years in the cellar. One of the special features of Barons de Rothschild Champagnes is the skilful use of reserve wines, especially in the non vintage cuvées. This proportion gives the wines richness and depth. This is combined with a particularly low dosage of between 1.5 and 6 grams per litre, one of the lowest in the region.
