It is called Il Soprano and it is an interesting Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC proposed by Aresca. The purest son of the noblest of all the typical Piedmontese vines, this Nebbiolo d'Alba is produced with grapes from the company's beautiful vineyards on the hills of Piedmont, between the city of Alba and the Langhe. Traditionally vinified, this red wine matures in wood for about a year before being bottled and aged in glass for at least another 6 months before sale. Characterised by a beautiful ruby red colour with garnet hues, this Nebbiolo has typical aromas of violets and dark fruit. The nose is immediately pleasantly soft and ethereal, with intriguing notes of spices. In the mouth it is dry, with fine, ripe tannins. And it is precisely these typical characteristics of the variety that make this red wine a fantastic match for red meats and braised dishes.
