Brachetto d'Acqui "Gatiè" DOCG 2021

Gatiè is the Brachetto d'Acqui DOCG proposed here by Cantine dei Marchesi di Barolo. It is produced from grapes harvested in hilly vineyards, characterised by predominantly sandy soils capable of providing an abundance of trace elements, ensuring a beautiful expression of the bouquet. The freshly harvested grapes arrive in the cellar intact and are quickly crushed and delicately destemmed to extract only the noblest and most aromatic fractions from the skin and the outer part of the berry. The must is refrigerated while awaiting the subsequent partial fermentation in an autoclave. The carbon dioxide produced naturally during this process is partly dissolved in the wine. When the wine is ready, fermentation is stopped naturally by lowering the temperature of the tank. This leaves plenty of residual sugar in the wine. With its persistent mousse and fine, elegant perlage, this Brachetto is a beautiful cherry pink colour in the glass. The bouquet is intensely aromatic, reminiscent of musk and geranium flowers. In the mouth it is delicately sweet and slightly lively. It goes perfectly with the simplest desserts, such as fruit tarts or homemade biscuits.
