    L.A. Cetto Chardonnay 2022
  • L.A. Cetto Chardonnay is an elegant white with a distinctly international character. Pure Chardonnay grapes, bred under the hot Mexican sun. Grapes rich in flavor, fragrance and sugar, capable of producing an extremely rewarding and complex wine. The vineyards are located in Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, a particularly green corner where, in addition to vines, olive trees grow luxuriantly. The grapes, harvested when fully ripe, are processed in the L.A. Cetto company's modern winery in thermo-conditioned steel tanks. Then, the containers chosen for the aging phase before bottling are also made of steel. The color is bright straw yellow. The nose has intense aromas of citrus, green apple and that unmistakable note of fresh butter or cream that always accompanies Chardonnay. In the mouth, however, it turns out to be a pleasantly fresh wine, with a vague reminder of citrus. Excellent companion to tasty fish, including stews, and seafood salads.

    Mexican by fact, Italian by distant origin. The L.A. Cetto Winery, in fact, was founded in 1928 thanks to Angelo Cetto from Trentino. Originally from Selva di Levico, Trento, he moved to Mexico with his family in the mid-1920s. Here he acquires a winery in Tijuana, a stone's throw from the border. It is the Prohibition era, and thanks to this fortunate location, the Cetto family's business gets off on the right foot. With the arrival of Luis Augustin, Angelo's son, the winery expanded considerably, acquiring new vineyards and beginning to cultivate different grape varieties, mainly Italian, such as Nebbiolo, Montepulciano and Barbera, joined by Zinfandel, a relative of the Apulian Primitivo. Success was not long in coming, and within a few years the company began to expand its business, exporting its wines even to California.
