A mountain Chardonnay that comes from the so-called Valle dei Laghi, wedged between the mountains at the foot of the Dolomites, not far from Lake Garda. A small corner of paradise where the vineyards grow well thanks to the beneficial effect produced by the temperature range between the warmth of the day and the coolness of the night. Maso Toresella is the result of careful vinification and immediately reveals itself as a pleasantly drinkable wine. In the glass it has a beautiful golden yellow color, not overly charged. The nose perceives a slight hint of vanilla that characterizes the first seconds of tasting. But it is enough to slightly oxygenate the wine in the glass to capture even the freshest and most fruity aromas reminiscent of yellow apple and peach. In the mouth it is pleasantly dry, well supported by a fresh acidity.

Don't be fooled by its size, because Cavit, or rather Cantina Viticoltori del Trentino, is one of the largest wineries in Italy (and perhaps the world) but the quality of its wines is absolute and certified. Cavit, for the more punctilious, is not just a cooperative but actually a cooperative of cooperatives, which unites and markets the wines of ten Trentino cooperative wineries, with around 4,500 associated winegrowers and over 5,500 hectares of vineyards. A sea of vines from which, every year, an ocean of wine is produced. Cavit, however, collects, examines and selects the raw materials produced by its member wineries, following each stage with care: from refining to bottling. This is why today Cavit is considered almost synonymous with modern Trentino winemaking. It is no coincidence that it collaborates with the renowned Istituto Agrario di San Michele all'Adige (Fondazione Edmund Mach), which trains the most qualified technicians in the world, and with other national oenological research centres. Quality and quantity, for once, they go hand in hand in Trentino!

  • Sensations Pale gold in colour; on the nose a light hint of vanilla gives way to scents reminiscent of peach and exotic fruit. The palate is dry but supported by a fresh acidity typical of Trentino. Soft and velvety with a lingering finish.
  • Vinification After the grapes were destemmed and crushed, the must remained in contact with the skins for 10 hours at a temperature of 10 degrees C to facilitate the extraction of the aromas. Fermentation took place entirely in lightly toasted oak barriques, one third new and two thirds second and third passage, where the wine was left to age for 6 months before being blended and rested for a few weeks in a stainless steel tank. After the bottling carried out in April 2018, a further refinement in the bottle of about one year is carried out.
