People generally associate the Primitivo vine with Apulia. In reality, it is a vine that is also allowed in the production of some of Campania's DOC wines, such as Falerno del Massico, and, as in this case, in the regional IGPs. The name Prima Essenza refers to the characteristic earliness of this vine, which allows it to ripen earlier than other varieties. Primitivo grapes, in fact, are often ready to be harvested as early as the end of August. And this makes this the first wine presented from the new vintage. Aged only in steel and in the bottle, this Prima Essenza is a wine characterised by a red colour with violet hues. The nose reveals hints of small red fruits, floral notes and a slight herbaceous hint. On the palate, however, one discovers a wine characterised by a full body, soft and enveloping. The tannins are well integrated, while the finish is long and persistent. A pleasantly versatile wine, it is perfect with meat dishes or medium-aged cheeses. It is also excellent with first courses with tasty sauces.
